Board repair

Postby bullstreetoby » Fri Feb 28, 2020 3:24 am

Cleaning the nozzles I managed, as many have done, to blow R271.

Surely this is a design fault, if the brass brush can cause a short.

I removed the board and got it repaired professionally for £20 here in Rural Devon. Much cheaper than the £80 quote I got from XYZ.

In future, once the nozzles are up to temperature, I'll turn off the power when cleaning!

Hi there I am really sorry to read about what happened to your device. In future if you need money quickly for urgent repairs like this, I guess it is possible to get a loan here and fix it before the problem grows into something bigger.

Yeah I am sorry that you had to pay this much. If you are in New York next time do contact Handy Kith. They will come and fix this board for you. And in fact it will be even cheaper if you also ask them to check your computer and printer cables as well as all sockets. We often forget about these things and they seem to go faulty at the most inappropriate moment. They came to my house for TV antenna repair and fixed it quickly.
