XYZ Printing Software after updating to 2.02

Postby CamaroDan » Fri Jun 19, 2020 1:26 pm

After the latest XYZPrint 2.02 update, I can no longer upload STLs without the program immediately crashing after selecting the icon. Also, I cannot get the wireless to work at all. I can see the device on the wireless network, but the iOS app does not see it and even when I try to set it up using the IP address it still can't find the printer. XYZ sends frequent updates and they all cause some type of problem that takes time to resolve, what is up with their SDLC?

Still crashing after XYZPrint 2.03 update. What is wrong with your dev team? Don't you QA your releases? THIS IS A PRETTY BIG BUG IN THE CODE THAT PREVENTS YOUR OWNERS FROM USING THEIR XYZ MINI PRINTERS AND WILL CREATE MAJOR BRAND ISSUES FOR XYZ. YOU SHOULD FIX THIS QUICKLY AND THEN DO A ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS ON HOW YOU LET THIS HAPPEN!

I have XYZPrint version 2.02 (I think) as part of the XYZMaker Suite. I recently discovered that it won't create any supports when I slice something and request that in the options! This makes it pretty much useless for printing any of the models out there that require supports, which is a great many of them!

I've not been happy ever since they stopped supporting my Da Vinci Mini/w with the older versions of the XYZWare software that worked great and was a lot less clunky that the XYZMaker Suite and XYZPrint which are junk by comparison.

I did just find a nice solution though, I reinstalled an old version of XYZWare from 2016, before they took the support for my printer out of it - and it can correctly slice models with supports once again! I will try actually printing the model I need tomorrow, but anticipate no problems - as long as I keep answering "No" when ever it asks me if I want to upgrade to the newest software version.

XYZPrinting's software support has always been mediocre at best (I never could use XYZMaker because it was so buggy and as far as I know was never fixed), but it is pretty unbelievable that we can't use their printers because their software fails to work properly at all! I strongly agree with your call for them to get their act together and clean up all their outstanding software issues. There is no excuse for such poor software support that's basically broken our printers after they were working perfectly well for years!

You should take into account a wide range of potential factors that can enhance your performance and responsiveness if you want to develop applications quickly and to a high standard. Since ios testing service https://qawerk.com/services/ios-application-testing/ enables you and your team to quickly and effectively improve performance, it is worthwhile to consider it. You can pick out structured, repeatable techniques from this list that help you understand what you're doing and feel confident in it.
