New owner of a junior needs help

Postby lostone » Fri Jun 09, 2017 8:34 pm

I bought a used davinci jr and when I load filament the head says it heats up and then the filament advances to the print head and nothing extrudes. The filament continues to advance and it forces the Bowden tube to disconnect from the extruder . The directions that I got with the unit are not helpful , any suggestions on what to do to get this thing working?

I just had a similar issue and - for me - there were two causes. The first was that the locking collar where the Bowden tube inserts to the input nut (don't know what else to call it) was weak for some reason, so the tube kept slipping out of it.

The second issue was that I had an ugly blockage in the extruder head; a piece of filament had broken off and jammed. I had to take the entire head apart to get it cleared out.

I hope you've been able to fix your issue since you posted!
