Has anyone used the XYZ laser etcher to cut?

Has anyone used the XYZ laser etcher to cut thin plastic film, such as a copier's transparency material?

Laser etching, which is a subset helpful hints of laser engraving, occurs when the heat from the beam causes the surface of the material to melt. The laser beam uses high heat to melt the surface of the material. The melted material expands and causes a raised mark.

Sure did, had success with 2mm ply wood and thicker paper. Plastics should be no problem, if it's transparent make sure to place something dark under it, so that the laser can do the cutting. For the 2mm ply wood I went really slow like 2-3mm/s with the vector function.
